WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER MEGGENHORN CASTLE

CIVIL WEDDING MEGGENHORN

Shouwen and Adrian contacted me “on short notice” for their wedding. There are just two months in between. They want to book me for the civil wedding as their wedding photographer at Meggenhorn Castle.

How beautiful is that. The castle is perfectly located and very homey. The view of the lake and the surrounding mountains like the Pilatus or the Bürgenstock are fantastic. Especially when the weather is fine, one of the most beautiful places to say yes.
And so it was. With early summer temperatures, blue sky and sunshine.

I would have gladly invited the bridal couple to my studio for a get-to-know-you meeting. Unfortunately this was not possible, because they live in the USA. Adrian is Swiss and Shouwen has Chinese roots. Without further ado we agreed on a Skype call. We were immediately sympathetic and on the same wavelength. The bridal couple arrived a few days before the wedding to acclimatize a little. But then we started already.

In the early afternoon the close family circle met at the parking lot. Together we walked to the nearby castle. It was quickly searched for shade, it was already quite warm. There was still enough time to freshen up.

Shouwen changed the Converse for elegant wedding shoes. She said you can’t see anything under the dress anyway, but still. The high shoes were on until after the wedding ceremony, then she changed back to comfortable sneakers.
During the ceremony an interpreter translated into Shouwen’s mother tongue.

After the civil wedding, congratulations and a toast were given for the first time. Afterwards we took a few minutes to take group photos. With this wonderful scenery simply great. And also a wonderful memory for the Chinese guests.

We also used the good weather to take couple photos. Casual, real and simply funny. The bridal couple were horrified by all the “fashion poses” from the bridal magazines. They just wanted to be themselves…

In the meantime, the aperitif guests gathered in the castle bistro and welcomed the newlyweds.

Dear Shouwen, dear Adrian, thank you for allowing me to accompany you as wedding photographer at Meggenhorn Castle.
